2024 - Middle East
International School Middle East
The existing school has outgrown its existing site and is seeking a larger and more suitable home. A schematic design was prepared for the purpose of negotiating with a potential.
The summers in Saudi Arabia are hot and students tend to spend much of their day indoors. The large halls and dining are arranged in a column between the teaching wings, with the primary school arranged down one side and the secondary school on the other. The large communal and social spaces thus become the heart of the school, where they are best isolated from the outside and readily accessible to all.
The teaching accommodation is arranged around planted courtyards which will provide shade and shelter for recreation.
